Latin Grammy Honors Veterans: Guerra and Drexler Shine

The 25th Annual Latin Grammy Awards celebrated the enduring legacy of seasoned artists, with Dominican singer-songwriter Juan Luis Guerra and his band 4.40 emerging as the night's big winners.

Guerra, 67, claimed Album of the Year for "Radio Güira" and Record of the Year for "Mambo 23." These victories solidified his status as a Latin music icon, particularly after the groundbreaking success of his 1990 album "Bachata Rosa."

Another veteran, Uruguayan singer-songwriter Jorge Drexler, won Song of the Year for "Derrumbe." This marked his second major award, following his 2005 Academy Award for "Al Otro Lado del Río."

While younger stars like Anitta, Bad Bunny, and Karol G were nominated, it was the seasoned artists who captured the night's top honors.

The night also recognized the enduring impact of Colombian singer-songwriter Carlos Vives, who was honored as Person of the Year. Vives' fusion of traditional vallenato music with rock has revolutionized Latin music.

The Latin Grammy Awards showcased a blend of established and emerging talent, proving that the rich tapestry of Latin music continues to evolve and inspire.
