On Friday, December 13th, the good news arrived for aspiring educators. The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), in collaboration with the Board for Professional Teachers (BPT), announced the results of the September 2024 Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET).
A total of 68,900 examinees passed the rigorous test, paving the way for their careers in teaching. This figure represents a combined passing rate of both elementary and secondary levels.
Breaking down the results further, 20,025 aspiring elementary teachers (45.51%) successfully passed the exam. Among these passers, 16,340 were first-time examinees, demonstrating strong preparation. However, experienced educators also made their mark, with 3,685 repeaters joining the ranks of successful elementary teachers.
The secondary level saw even more impressive results, with 48,875 passers (56.88%). This cohort was dominated by first-timers, with 41,190 individuals achieving their goal on the initial attempt. Nevertheless, 7,685 repeaters persevered and secured their licenses, showcasing their dedication to the teaching profession.

The Board, responsible for overseeing the LET, is composed of esteemed individuals in the field of education. Dr. Rosita L. Navarro leads the board as Chairman, with Dr. Paz I. Lucido serving as Vice Chairman. Dr. Paraluman R. Giron and Dr. Nora M. Uy complete the board as Members, ensuring a comprehensive and qualified oversight of the examination process.
The PRC has yet to announce the exact dates and venues for the oathtaking ceremonies for the successful examinees. However, aspiring teachers can expect further announcements soon, marking the official transition into their teaching careers.
