Cess Robles Leads Chery Tiggo to Comeback Win Over Galeries Tower

Pasig City, Philippines – The Chery Tiggo Crossovers concluded their 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference campaign with a thrilling five-set victory over Galeries Tower. The team, led by the impressive performance of Cess Robles, showcased their resilience and adaptability to secure a 30-28, 20-25, 19-25, 25-16, 15-8 win.

Robles, a former National University standout, was a force to be reckoned with, tallying 21 points, 10 receptions, and nine digs. Her all-around performance propelled Chery Tiggo to a comeback after dropping the first two sets.

Key contributions from veteran players Aby Maraño (15 points), Pauline Gaston (14 points), and Shaya Adorador (13 points) further solidified the Crossovers' victory.

Galeries Tower, despite a strong performance from France Ronquillo, couldn't maintain their early lead. The team's inability to capitalize on their momentum proved costly as Chery Tiggo surged ahead in the final three sets.

The Chery Tiggo Crossovers have experienced significant changes in the offseason, including a new head coach and the departure of key players. This tumultuous period has forced the team to adapt and evolve.

Pauline Gaston emphasized the team's willingness to embrace change: "The program they're planning is really good. They're not afraid to try different things. In the third set, I played as a utility player, and Ate Ara played as an outside hitter."

She added, "There are a lot of 'surprise factors' because a lot of players aren't afraid to step out of their comfort zones with the help of our coaches."

As the PVL All-Filipino Conference concludes, the Chery Tiggo Crossovers have shown that they are a team capable of overcoming adversity and achieving success through adaptability and teamwork.
