De La Salle University alumna Jolina dela Cruz had a humorous response to fans who jokingly referred to her as a "bagwa," or a presence that brings bad luck to the team.
The inside joke originated from fans who observed that DLSU teams often suffered losses when the volleyball star was in attendance.
Jolina was present at the Mall of Asia Arena on Wednesday to witness Game 2 of the UAAP Season 87 Men's Basketball Finals between the DLSU Green Archers and the UP Fighting Maroons. When interacting with fans, Jolina playfully addressed the "bagwa" label, declaring, "Marami akong sasampalin!"

She further emphasized her unwavering support for her alma mater, stating, "Tsaka hello, alma mater ko 'to, kaya syempre susuportahan ko 'to." Jolina's presence at the game proved to be an auspicious one as the Green Archers narrowly defeated the Fighting Maroons 76-75.
Following the victory, Jolina took to X (formerly Twitter) to playfully remark, "Parang ang dami kong sasampalin tonight?"
The Green Archers have now forced a decisive Game 3, scheduled for Sunday, December 15, at 5:30 p.m.
