Two remarkable women from Negros Occidental are set to grace the Miss Universe Philippines 2025 stage, embodying the pageant's commitment to inclusivity and empowerment.
Franches Anne Laquibla, a 20-year-old from Pontevedra, and Louise Lian Enumerable Bobe, a 28-year-old from Murcia, have been crowned Miss Universe Philippines-Negros Occidental and Miss Universe Philippines-Bacolod, respectively.
Their journey to the national stage begins in February when they join the official roster of contestants in Manila. The coronation night is scheduled for April, where the reigning Miss Universe-Asia, Chelsea Manalo, will pass on her crown.
Kashmere Granada, the franchise holder for MUPh-Negros Occidental and Bacolod City, underscored the significance of this milestone. "This is more than just a competition; it's a platform for women to break barriers and redefine beauty standards," Granada said. "We're giving deserving women, regardless of their life stage, the opportunity to shine."
To ensure the queens are well-prepared, Granada has assembled a talented creative team. Stylist James Larnelle, designers Khalil Gib Estraño and Jude Chael, and fashion designer Louis Pangilinan are among the experts guiding the candidates.
Laquibla, a single mother to a one-year-old son, advocates for body diversity. "True beauty lies in self-acceptance," she says. "I want to create a world where all body types are celebrated."
Bobe, a banker and mother to a three-year-old daughter, is passionate about equitable healthcare, financial literacy, and breastfeeding awareness. Her personal experience with heart surgery as a teenager fuels her advocacy for affordable cardiovascular care.
Both women exemplify the modern Filipina, balancing motherhood, career, and a commitment to social causes. As they embark on their Miss Universe Philippines journey, they inspire women across the nation to dream big and make a difference.
