Nicki Minaj is embroiled in yet another controversy, this time facing accusations of assault and battery from her former tour manager, Brandon Garrett.
Garrett, who worked on Minaj's "Pink Friday 2" tour, filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court alleging that the rapper physically and verbally attacked him during a show in Detroit in April 2024.
According to the lawsuit, the altercation stemmed from Garrett asking another employee to collect Minaj's prescriptions. This allegedly enraged the rapper, who confronted Garrett backstage, shouting expletives and threatening him. Garrett claims Minaj then struck him in the face and on the wrist.
Following the alleged assault, Garrett filed police reports in both Chicago and Detroit, expressing fear for his safety. He is now seeking damages for battery, assault, and infliction of emotional distress.
Minaj's lawyer has responded to the lawsuit, calling Garrett's claims "completely false and frivolous" and expressing confidence that the matter will be resolved in Minaj's favor.
This is not the first time Minaj has been accused of causing emotional distress. In August 2024, a 15-year-old fan sued the rapper for publicly humiliating him and labeling him a "mentally unstable stalker." The fan also accused Minaj's husband, Kenneth Perry, of battery during a Super Bowl event in 2020.
This latest lawsuit adds to the growing list of legal troubles for the rapper, raising questions about her behavior and treatment of those around her.
