SM Megamall has taken swift action after a disturbing video surfaced online showing a security guard kicking a young girl and destroying her sampaguita flowers outside the mall. The incident sparked outrage on social media, with many condemning the guard's actions.

In a statement released on Thursday, SM Megamall expressed regret and sympathy for the young girl, who was seen wearing a school uniform in the video. The mall management confirmed that the security guard has been dismissed and will no longer be allowed to work in any of their establishments.

"We strongly condemn his act committed against her as SM Supermalls always promotes inclusivity for all," the statement read.

The video, which quickly went viral, shows the security guard arguing with the young sampaguita vendor. When the girl stands up, the guard abruptly snatches her bundles of sampaguita and destroys them. This prompts the girl to retaliate, and the guard responds by kicking her.

The incident has brought to light the vulnerability of street vendors, particularly children, who often face harassment and discrimination while trying to earn a living. Many netizens expressed their support for the young girl and called for greater protection and respect for vendors.

SM Megamall's swift action in dismissing the security guard sends a strong message that such behavior will not be tolerated. It also highlights the importance of holding individuals accountable for their actions, regardless of their position.

This incident serves as a reminder of the need for compassion and understanding towards vulnerable members of society. It is hoped that this incident will lead to greater awareness and sensitivity towards the challenges faced by street vendors and encourage a more inclusive environment for all.
