According to Task Force Bangon Marawi, a total of 1,000 units will be built as temporary shelters of IDPs while the entire city is undergoing major rehab.
The single detached unit are completely with sink and bathroom, made out of brand new materials like sandwich panels for walls and sliding windows.
The National Housing Authorities(NHA) targeted approximately 600 units to finish till end of this year ,” said Bangong Marawi Executive Director Usec Cesar Yano.
IDPs need not to worry as donations will still reach to their areas where the temporary houses are built, “Kahit nandoon sila sa temporary shelters nila ay kasama sila sa mga biyaya o benepisyo,” Yano added.
Meanwhile, journalist Erwin Tulfo visited some of the temporary units which according to National Housing Authorities (NHA) costs P160,000, definitely lower compared to the temporary shelter made for typhoon Yolanda victims that cost almost P800,000 each.
