Kobe Paras will be joining UP Fighting Maroons

Kobe Paras will be joining the University of the Philippines (UP) Fighting Maroons for the UAAP Season 82.

UP head coach Bo Perasol confirmed the news on Wednesday to ABS-CBN News. After a one-year residency period, Paras will be joining with fellow Gilas Pilipinas cadet Ricci Rivero, Juan and Javi Gomez de Liaño.

The University of the Philippines is the most respected educational institution in the country. The attraction of UP is not just its basketball program, which just gets better each year, but the world-class education it is known for," Paras quoted to ABS-CBN.

Paras had first joined UCLA Bruins in 2015 and a year later, he entered Creighton University whee he played sparingly in 15 games for the Bluejays. Paras was set to join Cal State Northridge and undergo a redshirt in 2017.

The UP Fighting Maroons has won the championship in the UAAP men's basketball tournament in 1986, led by Kobe's father, Benjie Paras.
