Japanese runner completes marathon relay with broken leg by crawling to finish line

The 19-year-old university student Rei Lida from Japan finishes the marathon relay with a broken leg by crawling until the finish line. While in the middle of the 2.2-mile stretch of the 26-mile race, lida fell down with a fractured leg but instead of giving up, she crawled around 200 meters until finished line where she passed her sash to her teammate.

The video footage showed blood pouring out of lida's knees after she had finished crawling. Her teammate could be seen crying as she waited lida to handed over the sash to her.

Race marshal asked lida if she will going to quit but she reportedly replied: 'How many meters are left until my goal?' Then lida continue to crawl until she reached the finish line.
