Scammers Alert ! DTI Warns Public for buying LPG Safety Devices

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) warns the public against scammers who are selling LPG SAFETY DEVICES or LPG Anti-leakage devices.
(Note: LPG Safety Devices are not being endorsed by any government agency.)

According to a post by Police Regional Office 10, these scammers pretend to be government agents from Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP)  and will say that they are conducting a survey regarding a homeowner’s LPG brand. They will then conduct an “inspection” and try to scare their targets with various information regarding the dangers of LPG leakage.

After a convincing spiel, they will then offer to help by selling an LPG safety device worth P2,000 to P11,000, which when inspected only costs around P500. Most of their victims are senior citizens and housewives.

Everyone must be vigilant with these kind of people as they are roaming around your city to do this. If any suspicious act seen or observed by anyone whom you don’t know, you may call the attention of the people around you and report it immediately.
