Bacolod impose strict enforcement of masks and social distancing restrictions

Bacolod city launched 'Task Force Disiplina' or the strict implementation of City ordinance No. 926 also known as the Face Mask and Social Distancing Ordinance.

Task Force Disiplina roams every street of Bacolod with authorities using tape measures to make sure everyone practice proper social distancing rule.


Authorities have observed that not all are following the rules despite of the rising cases of coronavirus. Through the strict enforcement of the precautionary measures - use of mask and social distancing in the public spaces aimed that it will flattened the curve.

"Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran, chair of the task force, said starting August 1, they will strictly implement City Ordinance No. 926 also known as the “Face Mask and Social Distancing Ordinance of Bacolod City” authored by Councilor Archie Baribar," the announcement read on Bacolod City PIO Facebook page.

Task Force Disiplina will roam around the city to implement the rules and under the said ordinance, "any person caught violating health protocols, such as wearing of face masks and physical distancing will be fined P200 or an equivalent of eight hours of community service for every violation."

Meanwhile, non-residents of Bacolod will be fined P300.

The city appealed to public to have self-discipline and abide health protocols as a preventive measure against the disease.
