Philippine Air Force to receive 6 attack helicopters from Turkey

 Two of six T129 Turkish made attack helicopters is expected to receive in the third quarter of 2021 for the Philippine Air Force, according to PH Secretary of National Defense Delfin Lorenzana.




To boost the country's internal security capability, the Air Force finally got six new attack helicopters worth $269.4 million (P12.9 billion). Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI)  announced in April that the company have received a nod from the U.S. for its export licenses for the LHTEC CTS800-4A  engine.





The multirole, twin-engined and two seat platforms are expected to enhance the PAF combat capabilities in counter-insurgency and ground support. Last May 22, on Lorenzana's remarks he said that he is sending pilots and maintenance crews from the 15th Strike Wing to Turkey to undergo trainings.




Respectively, the other two helicopters will be delivered on February 2022 and the final two on 2023.
