A three-month-old baby was found abandoned by her mother in front a house in Enrique Villanueva town in Siquijor on early morning of Tuesday by Meralyn Sagayno Vega.
The now viral photos of the baby shared a thousand times with many netizens expressed their desire to adopt the child. Vega said the child was left inside a cardboard box with a note apparently coming from her mother hinting she could no longer take care her child.
In the note, it can be read that mother was desperate with only one wish, to take care of her baby. Among the other reasons, the child's father left her mother when she was 8-months pregnant.
"Maam/Sir. Pakitulong po na mabuhay ang anak ko. Aking hiling na makitang mabinyagansiya habang buhay pa ako dito sa mundo. Hindi po ako taga rito. Dinala lang po ako ng naka-buntis sa akin, pero nong nagwalong buwan na ang tiyan ko, iniwan niya ako. Sinasaktan rin niya ako. hindi pa nga ako nakakabayad sa aking panganganak. Umaasa akong marehistro ang anak ko at ma-immunize," she wrote in Bisaya.
The mother also expressed sorry to her daughter for what she did saying she just wanted her baby to live because her body was so tired because of hunger.
"Tatlong araw na akong hindi kumakain, umiinom na lang ako ng tubig," she said.
"Patawarin mo ako baby. Gusto ko lang na mabuhay ka. Pagod na pagod na ang katawan ko at hindi ko na kaya," she added.
The baby was named, Kathleen, born last November 3, 2021 at 3:30.
