BAR EXAM 2020-2021: FATHER AND DAUGHTER IN ALBAY CELEBRATE FOR PASSING BAR EXAM TOGETHER

 It's a double celebration!

A father and daughter from Bacacay town in Albay took and passed the 2020-2021 Bar together. Bernardo "Nards" Belarmino, 57, a senior agrarian reform program officer (SARPO) of the Department of Agrarian Reform passed the exam after seven attempts.

Nards, earned a passing rate of 72.28%.

"In all those attempts, I almost got a passing grade," Nards told Rappler when asked what keeps him motivated to take the Bar exam.

Meanwhile, his daughter Marie, a 2020 graduate of UST-Legazpi, passed the Bar exam on her first try.

She couldn't contain her happiness when she found out that she and her father have both passed the examination.

" I just wanted to be alone during that time. Naglakad lakad lang po ako tapos nung napadaan ako sa church dun ko na lang po napili mag-stay and nag-pray na lang din po ako while waiting to calm my anxious mind. And while nasa loob ako ng church, dun ko na nakita yung result ng bar exam," said Marie as quoted in ABS-CBN report.

The Supreme Court released the names of 8,241 out of 11,402 (72.28%) examinees who passed the exam last April 12, 2022.

"Sobrang happy po nang malaman ko na nakapasa ako and si papa. Umiyak po ako nung nalaman ko po na pumasa ako. I was hoping and praying na pumasa po pero hindi ako 100% confident na papasa. Almost 2 years po namin 'to hinintay since grabeng postponements because of the pandemic," she added.

According to Atty. Marie, to become a lawyer is her childhood dream inspired by her father who graduated Law in the same alma mater back in 1991.
