STAMPEDE AT INDONESIA FOOTBALL MATCH KILLS 125, MORE THAN 100 INJURED

 Indonesia football match on Saturday night had killed 125 people and more than 100 others have been injured in a tragic football stampede, among worst sports tragedies happened.



According to reports, police was forced to used teargas when angry fans started a riot and invaded the pitch causing panicked among football crowd.



It was a match between Javanese club Arema which was defeated by rival Persebaya Surabaya at Kanjuruhan stadium in Malang, East Java.




Supporters of Arema FC marched onto the pitch after a 3-2 lost to the visiting team, Persebaya Surabaya.



Many people were crushed and suffocated when they rushed to one exit, said Afinta.



“They went out to one point at the exit, then there was a buildup – in the process of accumulation there was shortness of breath, lack of oxygen.”



Officials first reported the death toll had been reached to 174, but later corrected the figure down to 125. 



"Some names were recorded twice because they had been referred to another hospital and were written down again," said East Java deputy governor Emil Dardak, citing data collected by local police from 10 hospitals.



Organizers of the event have been facing criticisms over the tragedy with one victim was aged five. 



Horrifying pictures captured people carrying injured spectators, "About 20 people arrived and four died. Fans died in the arms of players," said Arema coach Javier Roca.
