Actor Dominic Roque responded to allegations made by entertainment columnist Cristy Fermin about his finances, a high-end condo, and his relationship with Bea Alonzo.
Fermin claimed Roque's condo belonged to a "controversial politician" and Alonzo's family questioned his finances. Roque's lawyers condemned these "malicious and defamatory" statements, emphasizing Fermin didn't verify them with him.
Roque confirmed renting the condo from Dapitan City Mayor Bullet Jalosjos, apologizing for inadvertently involving him due to Fermin's "innuendos." He denied being a "benefactor" and Jalosjos confirmed Roque's tenancy with a receipt.
The statement addressed another claim about Congressman Bong Suntay being Roque's "benefactor." Roque's lawyers refuted this and noted Fermin's "unreasonable" innuendo about Suntay's sexuality. They added Roque isn't a Clean Fuel gas station owner and has been a brand ambassador for five years.
Regarding his relationship with Alonzo, the lawyers stated they "never fought nor had a disagreement over a prenuptial agreement." They deemed Fermin's claims "unverified speculations" intended to damage their reputations.
This follows talent manager Ogie Diaz and Boy Abunda announcing the couple's separation before their joint confirmation. After the breakup, Roque urged fans to stop bashing Alonzo.
