Applying for the 2025 DOST-SEI S&T Undergraduate Scholarship is Now Open!
Applying for the 2025 DOST-SEI S&T Undergraduate Scholarship is now easier than ever! Applications are accepted online through the DOST-SEI scholarships e-application system at www.science-scholarships.ph until November 22, 2024. No need to visit regional offices – all you need is a valid email address, a working cellphone number, and a stable internet connection.
Here's a step-by-step guide:
- Eligibility Check: Make sure you meet the criteria. Graduating Grade 12 students (SY 2024-2025) from STEM or top 5% of non-STEM strands are qualified. This applies even to those who graduated before SY 2024-2025 or under the pre-K12 program, as long as they haven't enrolled in college yet and belong to the top 5% of their graduating class. You must be a Filipino citizen with good moral character and health. There's no limit on applying previously but you must not have any existing post-secondary units.
- Gather Information: Before applying, collect details about your family's annual income from various sources (parents, spouse, legal guardian, or contributions). If you own agricultural land or vehicles, note the details as well.
- Online Application: Visit www.science-scholarships.ph by November 22, 2024 to access the e-application system. Remember, schools need to be included in the system by November 15, 2024, so ensure yours is listed before applying.
- Qualifying Examination: If you qualify for the next stage, you'll receive a Test Permit via email in January 2025. This permit will inform you about your test center, date, session, and other important details for the pen and paper exams tentatively scheduled on April 5-6, 2025.
- Scholarship Results: Watch out for announcements on the SEI website (https://sei.dost.gov.ph) around June 2025. Qualified applicants will be notified through their registered email with a Notice of Award. The Summit Express website will also publish the list of passers.
Benefits: Successful scholars will have the opportunity to pursue any priority science and technology course. The scholarship covers tuition fees (up to P20,000 per semester for DOST-accredited private universities) and provides a monthly stipend, book allowance, thesis allowance, transportation allowance (for those studying outside their home province), clothing allowance, and graduation allowance.
