Manila, Philippines – A low pressure area (LPA) has formed east of Mindanao on Monday morning, as reported by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
In its 24-hour tropical cyclone outlook, PAGASA indicated a low probability of the LPA developing into a tropical depression within the next 24 hours.
“At 8:00 AM today, the cloud cluster east of Mindanao developed into a Low Pressure Area with LOW chance of development into a tropical depression within the next 24 hours,” PAGASA stated.
PAGASA advises the public to stay updated on the latest weather information from the agency.
Last week, PAGASA issued a forecast suggesting the potential development of a tropical cyclone that could enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) between December 16 and 22. The projected path of this weather disturbance leans towards the Visayas region.
