New Bohol Panglao International Airport soon to lodge 2 million passengers

This is the country's first eco-airport and dubbed as the "Green Gateway to the World" is soon to open its door to the beautiful island of Bohol. The new Bohol Panglao Island International Airport is build with environment-friendly and sustainable structures are used, along with the solar panels to be installed on the passenger terminal building roof to cover around 1/3 of the airport's energy requirement.

The Department of Transportation had announced that New Bohol Panglao International Airport is now 90.14% complete. The passenger terminal design as seen in the photo has a sloping roof that is reminiscent of the province's famous chocolate hills. The new airport is expected to accommodate more than 2 million passengers.
