NARDING FLORO: CELEBRITIES REACT OVER THE ARREST OF 80-YEAR-OLD MAN FOR ALLEGEDLY STEALING MANGOES

 Netizens and other celebrities have condemned  the arrest of 80-year-old man Narding Floro after being accused of stealing around 10 kilos of mangoes.




After his story went viral on social media, many of them publicly voiced support for him when he first claimed he had just picking the mango fruit which according to him was a tree they planted before the property was closed for the new owner.




“Pinapitas ko ’yung isang puno ng mangga wala pang sampung kilo, ang alam ko sakop namin. Noong binakuran nila, sinakop naman na nila pero tanim ko naman ’yun,” the Asingan PIO Facebook post quoted Floro as saying.



Floro was arrested through a warrant issued by the 7th Municipal Trial Court (MCTC) of Asingan San Miguel last Dec. 20, 2021. The old man also said that he tried to talk with his neighbor for agreement and even offered to pay for the magoes, but he was told to pay P6,000 bail instead. 




The revelation sparked immediately backlash from the celebrities and social media folks which offered tons of assistance for his temporary released.

Some netizens described the incident inhuman and suggest neighbor should have pitied Floro since he is living alone.



President aspirant and Se. Panfilo Lacson joined the netizens by sharing, "A TALE OF TWO THIEVES: Police arrested (80-year-old) Lolo Narding Floro for stealing 10 kilos of mangoes from a tree which he said he planted in what used to be his backyard. Government official X keeps stealing millions in public funds. He is free traveling with police escorts," Lacson said in a tweet.  




Meanwhile, actress Ryza Cenon, Kim Atienza, and Rabiya Mateo offered their help to Floro with other kind hearted netizens extending their financial support to the poor old man.





Currently, "Lolo Narding" Floro has been temporarily released after posting a P6,000 bail.
