Malay, Aklan Mayor and other officials suspended on eve of re-opening of Boracay

People are excited and overjoyed to the re-opening of the new Boracay today, but this guys would be the most saddest person in the re-opening of the famous island. The Malay, Aklan Mayor Cicero Cawaling has been suspended by the Ombudsman for six months on the eve of the Boracay re-opening in connection with the alleged environmental degradation.


The Mayor was charged of graft complaint filed against him by the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) for allegedly allowing illegal operations of several business establishment. 

Aside from Cawaling, 16 other officials of Malay were charged of administrative and criminal case including Aklan Gov. Florencio Miraflores in separate complaint stated in the report of Philstar.

Malay officials are charged of the alleged issuance of business permits to establishments despite of non compliance of the fire and safety clearance and other compliance certificate to operate.

However, the tourism department had imposed some regulations to follow by each and every traveler once you are in the paradise of Boracay.

No beach parties such as "Loboracay"is allowed, smoking, drinking in public places and bringing of tables and chairs to the beach are also prohibited.
