Taste of Manila is back in Toronto on August 17-18

The biggest Pinoy festival 'Taste of Manila' is back and it's happening on August 17-18 at the little Manila in North York, Greater Toronto. When it started in 2014, Bathurst and Wilson Avenue a home for many Filipinos attracts 75,000 people. Two years later, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau joined the summer event whose attendance invites to about 350,000 visitors. 

It motivates all festival-loving people to flock to the festival, where it featured Filipino food to savor the authentic Filipino culinary delights and cultural presentations overflowing pool of Filipino talents. 

The extraordinary success during its initial presentation in 2014 have garnered an unprecedented standing as the 3rd largest festival in the Greater Toronto Area.

The event has no entrance fee, all you need to do is to come there and enjoy together of thousands of festival goers. You will taste most of the delicious Filipino dishes such as sisig fries, ukoy or deep-fried shrimp fritters, pinoy-style pork BBQ, chicken BBQ, octopus BBQ, and more versions of adobo, pancit, chicharon, lumpia, hapo-halo and gulaman. The day will not complete without karaokes galore, street games, Filipino art exhibit and entertainment, featuring music and dance.

ABS-CBN TFC has been a partner to Taste of Manila by providing world-class Filipino performers. MOR 101.9 will be holding the Regional Finals of its Pinoy Pop Icon contest on August 17, 2019.

The contest is open to all Filipino singers and permanent residents of Canada with age 18 years old and above. Applicants are need to prepare a 3-5 minute YouTube video of two songs, one in English and the other one in Filipino a capella. They can email the video link with a full name and telephone number to with subject line, MOR Talent Search 2019.

Deadline for submission is on July 20, 2019. The chosen finalists will be notified via email.
