Kobe Bryant's daughter Gianna also died in the tragic helicopter crash

According to a report, Kobe Bryant's second-oldest daughter Gianna "Gigi" Bryant was also killed in the accident. She was 13 years old.


TMZ has reported, the pair was traveling to the Mamba Academy in Thousand Oaks, California, for a basketball practice when the crash happened. The girls basketball tournament was scheduled for Sunday.

Bryant, who had four daughters with his wife, Vanessa, is supporting women's sports in recent years, coaching and mentoring basketball players around the world.

Kobe retired on his career nearly four years ago, leaving as the third-leading scorer in the NBA history. He finished two decades in Lakers purple and gold as a prolific shooter with a a sublime all-around game and relentless competitive ethic that inspired fans and opponent alike.

Michael Jordan has spoken on Kobe's death, saying, "I am in shock over the tragic news of Kobe's and Gianna's passing. Words can't describe the pain I'm feeling. I loved Kobe -- he was like a little brother to me. We used to talk often, and I will miss those conversations very much."
