Security guard teaches street kids how to read and write during lockdown goes viral

The photo of a security guard who gave his time to teach street kids how to read and write has earned online praised from many netizens expressing admiration over a selfless act.

John Robert Flores shared the now viral photo on Facebook after he and his friend spotted a Palawan Pawnshop guard near Arellano University in Manila busy in teaching few street kids surrounded him. 


 “Nakakaproud lang kasi kahit di nya kaano-ano, but still tinuruan nya parin kasi may busilak siyang puso ❤. I salute you Kuyang SG, sana patuloy ka parin bigyan ng blessings ni Lord dahil sa mabuting at busilak kang puso para matulungan ang batang yan,” Flores wrote.

Recently, the security identified as Rene Abelita was featured on Julius Babao's Mission Possible. Abelita said that he decided to help the kids because of the health crisis and those family who coudn't send their children to school.

Indeed, Abelita was rewarded by Mission Possible with two sacks of rice, trays of fresh eggs, hygiene essentials, and renewal of his license as security guard.
