Tesla chief Elon Musk is taking a spot as the world's third richest person after he has surpassed Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg following the surge in the price of Tesla shares, according to Bloomberg report.
The 49-year-old billionaire's electric car company stock is up as much as 15% on Monday, leaving his fortune skyrocketed to $120bn compared to Facebook chief's $103bn.
The news comes days after Musk's space company SpaceX successfully sent its first manned commercial spacecraft to the International Space Station in partnership with NASA. According to the Index, Musk has grown his wealth by a whopping $82.2 billion in 2020, an all-time high among the world's 500 richest people.
Currently, Amazon chief Jeff Bezos remain the wealthiest man with $183bn, followed by Microsoft founder Bill Gates, who has worth $128bn.
