Negros Occidental records 53 COVID infections in a day

 Teresita L. Jalandoni Provincial Hospital molecular laboratory in Silay City recorded 53 new COVID-19 cases in single day. Cadiz City reported with the highest number at 12 followed by San Carlos City with 9.







Other city's such Bacolod, Valladolid and Isabela logs 5 new infections, Escalante City (3), Talisay City and Cauayan with two each, while Sagay City, La Carlota, Manapla, Pulupandan and Toboso with one each.







Gov. Bong Lacson appealed to  Ret. Gen. Carlito Galvez Jr., Chief Implementer on the National Task Force on COVID-19, IATF-EID Vaccine Czar, and Sec. Vivencio B. Dizon, Deputy  Chief Implementer on the National Task Force on COVID-19 , IATF Testing Czar,  to reconsider the DILG Region VI observations and recommendations relative to EO 21-18-A, Series of 2021, to allow the Provincial Government of Negros Occidental implement the mandatory swabbing and quarantine upon entry of all travelers to the Province of Negros Occidental.







Gov. Bong Lacson  contended that while the province intends to fully implement the uniform travel protocols mandated in the IATF Resolution 101, the unexpected surge of COVID-19 confirmed cases have rendered the Province of Negros Occidental defenseless from the onslaught of COVID-19 cases coming from other parts of  the country.





Meanwhile, as of March 30, 2021, Negros Occidental reported 7,383 total cases with 6,831 recoveries bringing the active cases to 327. Death toll at 225.
