Jo Koy, the Filipino-American comedian is set to star ABC's comedy project called "JOSEP". The show will follow the life of a hardworking Filipino American nurse "trying to navigate dating, fatherhood, and the hilarious complications caused by his strong-willed Filipino mother moving in with him."
The project is written and executive produced by Steve Joe as showrunner. It is also hails from 20th Television, and executive produced by Michael Golamco, Randall Park, Jake Kasdan, and Melvin Mar.
Jo Koy himself took to Instagram and shared his excitement, sharing a screenshot of The Hollywood Reporter article with a headline "Comic Jo Koy to star in ABC Comedy Project From Melvin Mar."
Koy, who was awarded as "Stand-Up Comedian of the Year" in 2018 for Just for Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal recently published his autobiography Mixed Plate: Chronicles of an All-American Combo. He also have four comedy specials for Netflix and Comedy Central.
