Bongbong Marcos files candidacy for president

After confirming his political plan on Tuesday, October 5, former Senator Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. on Wednesday filed his certificate of candidacy (COC) for president as he seek to follow footstep of his father.

During an interview, Marcos revealed that the plan was supposed to adopt President Rodrigo Duterte as his vice-president, until the latter announced on Saturday his retirement from politics.

Like many other candidates for president or vice president, Marcos also signed the "integrity pledge" at the Comelec tent.

"I don't have any fight with VP Leni Robredo. i am running for president, I am not fighting against anyone. Senator Ping Lacson is filing as we speak, so it's not going to be that kind of elections. There are many of us. I would not file my COC if I was not ready to campaign, if i was not ready to answer all your questions. I am ready to answer your questions and I am ready to campaign,' said Marcos.

He run under the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas, where he took his oath as a member and chairman on Tuesday.

Marcos and Robredo were the top contenders in the vice presidential race back in 2016. And in February, the Supreme Court (SC) dismissed the electoral protest filed by Marcos against Robredo as Marcos camp filed a motion for reconsideration.
