Pasig mayor Vico Sotto announced on Monday that 215 street sweepers in his city would get a salary hike.
Starting next-year their salaries will be roughly doubled from a range of P5000 to P8000, this will be increased to P12,000 per month as long as they work the required hours.
Two hundred fifteen (215) employees from the City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) and Solid Waste Management Office (SWMO), now will work 8-hours a day, said Sotto in a tweet.
"215 more employees from cenro/swmo whose salaries were only 5K/8K for the longest time, will now be increased to P12,000/month (basta kumpleto ang pasok)," he said.
"Marami sa kanila ay STREET SWEEPER, makakatulong ito para mapunan ang kulang sa mga eskenita," he added.
