Pasay representative Celeste Cortesi has won the Miss Universe Philippines 2022! She bested 31 other finalists at the SM Mall of Asia Arena tonight, April 30.
In the question and answer portion of the pageant, Celeste was asked by host Pia Wurtzback:
"If you could stop time for a day, how would you spend it?"
Celeste answered: "If I could stop time, I will spend it with my family, especially my mother. It's been two years since I didn't see my family because they live in Italy and I came here in the Philippines just by myself. So if I had a chance to spend one day I would definitely be with my mom. And I will tell her how much I love her and miss her."
Meanwhile, Miss Makati Michelle Dee bagged the Miss Universe Philippines Tourism and Miss Universe Philippines Charity goes to Miss Bohol Pauline Amelinckx.
Miss Misamis Oriental Annabelle McDonnell is the 1st runner-up while Miss Taguig Katrina llegado is the 2nd runner-up.
Miss Universe 2021 Harnaaz Sandhu and Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray were also present at the coronation night. However, Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach, Miss Universe 2016 Iris Mittenaere, and Miss Universe 2017 Demi-Leigh Tebow served as the hosts.
