TULSA HOSPITAL MASS SHOOTING: FOUR PEOPLE KILLED

Four people were killed in a shooting Wednesday evening in a medical building on a hospital campus in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The incident is the latest mass shooting just week after a school massacre in Texas.

The suspect, who was armed with a rifle and handgun was also killed in the attack at the St. Francis Health System hospital campus.

Police has responded immediately after emergency calls came in that a shooter had stormed into the second floor of a clinic.

Tulsa police Captain Richard Meulenberg said officers were treating the scene as "catastrophic," with "several" people shot and "multiple injuries."

The mass shooting is among the latest instances nationwide of first responders and civilians coming face-to-face with the threat of gun violence in public places.

Police received a call just before 5 P.M. Wednesday about a person with a firearm at the Natalie Medical Building.

Responding officers who arrived at the crime scene "were hearing shots in the building, and that's what directed them to the second floor," police Deputy Chief Eric Dalgleish said.
