UC NURSING STUDENT HAIL HERO FOR SAVING VENDOR IN NECK SLASHING INCIDENT

Angyl Faith Ababat, a second-year nursing student from the University of Cebu (UC) was hailed hero for saving the life of a fruit vendor whose neck got slashed by her live-in partner along C. Padilla Street last January 30.



Quick-thinking student never hesitate to help the bleeding Bernadeth Zamora along a sidewalk earlier this week.




The young student personally applied her knowledge in medical school by applying continuous pressure to stop bleeding until medical responders came.


Ababat will receive a scholarship grant from the University of Cebu for saving life of mango vendor.



"Good job Angyl, you serve as good example of a true UCnian that cares. You're a real 'HERO'. The whole University of Cebu community is so proud of you!" the university said on Friday.



Zamora was reportedly selling mangoes when she was grabbed by her live-in partner, Edwin Salazar, who have slashed her neck and fled. The suspect was eventually arrested.


Meanwhile, the Cebu Police Office is set to give recognition to Angyl Faith Ababat for her heroic action.
