Fact-Checking Milo: Is Carlos Yulo Still Their Man?

Social media posts have been circulating a claim that the CEO of Milo, a popular energy drink, issued a statement regarding the removal of two-time Olympic gold medalist Carlos Yulo as a brand ambassador. These posts allege that the CEO criticized Yulo's character and claimed Milo is a "family-oriented" brand.

However, these claims are false. Milo, being a product of Nestle, does not have a dedicated CEO. The CEO of Nestle is Laurent Freixe, and the CEO of Nestle Philippines is Kais Marzouki. Neither executive has made any public statement about Yulo's endorsement.

The image used in the misleading posts is of Josip Rupena, the CEO of a financial technology company also named Milo. This has led to confusion and the spread of misinformation.

Milo, in fact, has a long-standing relationship with Yulo, featuring him in advertisements and supporting his athletic journey. There has been no official announcement from Milo regarding any changes to their partnership with the gymnast.

The energy drink brand remains committed to promoting Philippine sports and empowering athletes, as evidenced by their recent renewal of their partnership with pole vaulter EJ Obiena.
