Metro Manila Film Festival Celebrates 50 Years with "Sine Sigla sa Singkwenta 50 at P50

 To commemorate its 50th anniversary, the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) is launching a special program called "Sine Sigla sa Singkwenta 50@P50." As part of this initiative, 50 classic MMFF films will be screened to the public at an affordable price of P50.



The curated selection of films showcases the festival's rich history and diverse storytelling, spanning various genres and eras. These cinematic gems offer a glimpse into the social, historical, and artistic landscape of the Philippines over the past five decades.



The "Sine Sigla sa Singkwenta 50@P50" program will run from September 25 to October 15 in select cinemas nationwide. MMFF overall concurrent chairman Atty. Don Artes expressed his enthusiasm for the project, highlighting its significance in promoting local films.



"The films included in the lineup are beloved classics, award-winning, and highly acclaimed movies that will take viewers on a journey back in time and evoke fond memories," Artes said.



Some of the featured films have been restored to enhance their viewing experience for a new generation of audiences. However, others have been preserved in their original form to retain their nostalgic charm.

In addition to the film screenings, the MMFF also unveiled a colorful mural featuring some of the country's most iconic film stars. The mural, which is located in EDSA, pays tribute to the legends of Philippine cinema, including Dolphy, Fernando Poe Jr., Vilma Santos, Nora Aunor, Christopher de Leon, Vic Sotto, Amy Austria, and Maricel Soriano.
