Former Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach-Jauncey continues to use her platform for good. She headlined the 5th Love Yourself Gala, auctioning off iconic pieces from her Miss Universe journey to fund a worthy cause.
Fans can bid on a replica of Pia's stunning blue gown by designer Albert Andrada, along with other memorabilia like dresses, her sash, and even the swimsuit she wore in the 2015 competition. The auction, open until December 21st (the anniversary of her historic win!), will raise money for the establishment of a Youth Center in Taguig City.
This initiative, a collaboration between LoveYourself and the Taguig City Local Government, aims to provide crucial support for young people in the areas of HIV/AIDS awareness, mental health, reproductive health care, and a safe space for teens.
Pia, who will celebrate a decade as Miss Universe next year, shared her passion for the cause at the gala.
"This is just the beginning," she said. "There's so much more to be done. I'm grateful for everyone who came to the Love Gala, but this is just the kickoff."
Letting go of her sentimental items was an easy decision for Pia.
"They hold a lot of meaning," she explained, "but I believe in creating something lasting. These items can help build something that will outlive them. I feel good about letting go."
The gala wasn't just about advocacy – it was a celebration of music too. Performances by Jed Madela, Ben&Ben, and Marina Summers kept the energy high, while prominent figures like First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos and beauty queens joined the festivities.
Despite her busy schedule, Pia sees her work with LoveYourself as a break.
"This is my escape," she shared. "I have a lot of love for LoveYourself. I'm not dressed up, I don't wear a lot of makeup. They know me on a personal level."
Pia also revealed plans for a relaxing holiday with her husband Jeremy Jauncey in the UK. They'll focus on health and wellness with a planned retreat.
Looking to the future, Pia expressed her desire for a family. "I'd love to have a big family one day," she said. "We're both busy, but we're talking about it, and we'll get there."
Fans can own a piece of Pia's journey while supporting a life-changing cause by bidding on the auction items at lovegala.ph.
