Finally the long awaited MRT-7 officially begun with the groundbreaking ceremonies earlier today.The P69.30 billion project will includes the development of a 23km railway with 14 stations start from North Avenue, Quezon City to San Jose de Monte, Bulacan.
Construction crews have begun setting up equipment along Fairview and Commonwealth Avenue. During construction motorists who frequently passing Fairview and Commonwealth to expect heavy traffic.
DOTC targets April 2020 as the starts of operations for the new MRT line.With the new railway,DOTC says travel time will be cut from 3.5 hours to one hour from North EDSA to San Jose del Monte, it will accommodate 350,000 passengers and eventually carry up to 800,000 passengers daily once upgrade to the line have been made.
