4.4 Magnitude earthquake jolts Manila


The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology recorded a 4.4 magnitude earthquake which struck Burdeos town in Quezon Province and felt in various parts of Luzon at 7:14PM on Saturday.

The quake which centered 9 kms Northwest of Burdeos on the Island of Polilio, was felt at:

Intensity III in Quezon City, Binangonan and Baras in Rizal.

Intensity II was experienced in Malolos, Bulacan, Paranaque City, Antipolo City and Guinayangan City and intensity I in Tagaytay. 

There were no immediate reports of damage or injury reported. The Philippines sits on the Pacific "Ring of Fire" where continental plates collide causing frequent seismic and volcanic activity.
