Man burn alive in Kabankalan City

Kabankalan, Philippines - A male vendor in Kabankalan City suffered severe burns after an unidentified man “set him on fire” while he was doing business inside the public market Tuesday afternoon.

The man’s identity was not yet known as of Wednesday.

The City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) and the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) responded after they received a call for assistance at 3 p.m.

The vendor was cooking chicken when a man approached him and poured gasoline on his back, and his body caught fire.

Bystanders helped the victim who tried to put off the fire by himself while running.

The victim sustained third degree burns, and his market stall was also damaged. He is confined at a hospital.

Also hurt were a child and a woman, who sustained minor burns. Sunstar
