Pakistan hoist flag in the tallest flagpole in South East Asia

It is claimed to be the tallest flagpole in South East Asia and 8th highest in the world, as Pakistan hoist flag during the celebration of 70th Independence Day. The flag which is 120 by 180 feet was installed on a 400 feet pole by Pakistan Army Chief on Wagah-Attari border.



The tallest flagpole was planned after India hoisted a flag at the height of 360 feet last year. 

The hoisting was followed by grand fireworks and an address by Gen Bajwa. "Some 77 years ago, Pakistan resolution was passed in the same city Labhore. Pakistan came into being on the night of 27th Ramazan - it was a blessed night," said the army chief.

The army chief said that the flag symbolizes of its dignity. He lauded and congratulated Pakistan Rangers for arranging a superb flag hoisting ceremony at the Wagah Border.
