#WalangPasok: Malacanang declares September 1 a holiday

Manila, Philippines - Malacanang announced on Tuesday, August 29, officially declared September 1, 2017 (Friday) a regular holiday throughout the country in observance of Eid'l Adha or the "Feast of Sacrifice" for our Muslim brothers and sisters.



Proclamation No. 297 said the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF) has recommended to observe the occasion on the said date based on the Islamic Calendar. Eid's Adha is one of Islam's two major feasts along with Eid'l Fitr.


Republic Act No. 9849 states that the tenth day of Dhu al-Hijjah or the twelth month of the Islamic Calendar is hereby declared as a national holiday for the observance of Eidl Adha.
