38th Masskara Festival opens on October 1, 2017, Schedule, Rerouting Plan

The 38th Masskara Festival dubbed as "Bacolod: City of Southeast Asia" officially opens on Sunday, October 1. Mayor Evelio Leonardia will lead the opening rites at the Bacolod public plaza at 6 p.m.


The highlights will be on October 19 to 22. Public utility vehicle from the South are advised to turn left to San Juan Streets while those from the North will go straight to Palanca Road and will turn right to San Juan Street to proceed to their destinations.

All private vehicles are also not allowed to pass by the festival sites. Around 1,000 policemen from different enforcement units, including augmentation personnel from Police Regional Office PRO-Western Visayas.

Bacolod city also requested an additional 600 policemen from PRO-Western Visayas to augment the 650 personnel of BCPO. Gun ban will be implemented during the festivity and Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office will also provide security to tourists.
