Former BOC Commissioner Nicanor Faeldon's house was foreclosed, netizen offers her five story house

Former Bureau of Customs (BOC) Commissioner Nicanor Faeldon received a noticed of foreclosed from the National Home Mortgage Finance Corporation for his outstanding balance of P7,148,799 had been long overdue.

Faeldon had informed his followers in his Facebook account saying that his only house in Taytay, Rizal was foreclosed, "And now my one and only house will be foreclosed. Received this notice few days ago, what a timing!"

Many of his followers were saddened by the news, but one of his follower named Vicky Parocha tried to help Faeldon by offering her five story house in Malate, Manila as a temporary shelter for Faeldon's family.

“Sir I have a house wala pong nakatira kundi Yung aking pamankin na nag babantay she also working in QC…it is 5-story u can stay there with your family. I can offer you free until you settle lahat NG problema nyo…while we can do Fund raising pra sa loan nyo po…. Don’t give up we are here to help you in anyways.. God will provide in everything you need have faith and trust the Lord… …God blessed you. PM me Po u can count on me…God bless..” Parocha said.

However, Faeldon said in his Facebook page that he and his family decided to just foreclose his house in Taytay.

This is his whole statement:

Good day to all of you!

I read your messages and your kindness is immeasurable. I don’t know how to thank all of you one by one for your outpouring support and generosity beyond compare.

I do appreciate your offers to help save my house but my problem is so little compared to the problems of our country and the Filipino people.

After talking to my family, we have decided to just foreclose my house and I will just temporarily live in the house of my sister while resolving the issue. The amount of the surcharges is much much higher than the actual amount of my house and I really cannot afford it, and I believe it is inappropriate for us to allow a fund raising to help us keep my house.

Just to let you know why it accrued so much arrears because all of you deserved an explanation:

Since 2003 when I became a rebel because we opposed corruption in government, I was either in jail or a fugitive that’s why I didn’t have income and our expenditures dramatically increased. So my monthly amortization was irregular, sometimes in a year no payment at all.

I will continue to “Stand up for what is right even if it costs me my life”. (Sirach 4: 27-28) And I will never fail you and the Filipino people by succumbing to the pressures of standing up against powerful people who impose upon us to trample on our rights and more importantly, I will never fail you and the Filipino people by giving in to the temptations of corruption.

With my highest respect and admiration to all of you who are helping our country attain greater heights, kindly accept my best wishes and regards!

    Nick

Faeldon was appointed by President Duterte as BOC Commissioner last year, but when he was repeatedly implicated at the Senate Investigation on 6.4-B shabu shipment from China, he decided to resign from his post.
