Some brands cuts ties with Kuwaiti blogger Sondos Alqattan over remarks on Filipino domestic helper

Sondos Alqattan is in the spotlight over the backlash drawn over commentaries on how Kuwaiti employers should treat Filipino domestic helpers. The famous vlogger recently said that she was disagree of giving a couple of days off for Filipino domestic workers.


Sondo Al-Qattan lambasted for a video posted on July 10 to Instagram in which she attacked the May 11 Kuwait-Philippines agreement.

"We are absolutely shocked by the behavior of Sondos Alqattan, and we deeply regret relationship with her, which we are terminating with immediate effect," a spokesperson for M.Michallef told Gulf News.

Meanwhile, cosmetic brand Chelsea Beautique said in a statement that they had decided to remove a video, sponsored by Alqattan, from their channels.
Netizens lauded Chelsea Boutique for its actions imposed against racial discrimination.

In the video, she says, "For people who want to go get a Filipino domestic worker, what are these ridiculous work contracts you've got to sign?"

 Sondos has 2.3 million followers on Instagram, as well as more than 100,000 followers on Twitter.
