Cancer survivor Joy Arcilla:"I choose to live and enjoy life with or without my left arm"

Remember Joy Arcilla of Batangas? She first noticed a tiny lump on her left bicep in October 2012, but she ignored it and thought that it was a mosquito bite.

Joy's cancer caused her arm to swell like Popeye's.

She noticed that the mark continues to grow as the time goes by and she went to the doctor for check up. At 16 she was diagnosed with Ewing's Sarcoma, which is a cancer of the bone or soft tissue and underwent surgery. The Doctors assured her that the cancer had been cured but in 2014 the lump came back.

For the second time, on February 14, 2014 she went a surgery and she was told she needed 17 rounds of chemotherapy. But Joy unable to cope with chemotherapy treatment, she decided to stop after five rounds. But the lump returned for the third time in 2015 and fourth time in 2017. After trying all possible medicine, Joy made a decision to have her entire left arm amputated in December 2017.

After her last surgery Joy is now involved in some of the sports activities like swimming and learn a driving lesson. This power of positivity helps Joy overcome all the trials in her life saying "I choose to live and enjoy life with or without my left arm."
