According to Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade “The idea of having multiple airports is something that the world’s biggest economies do. Ideally, there should be a train service linking these airports, which is also being pursued by the government.”

The Department of Transportation conclude that these will provide more development on Luzon and options to travelers.

The Provincial Government of Cavite proposed the Sangley Airport but the local government must determine the legal framework for implementation before moving this to approval process.

Meanwhile an update for the progress of proposed P735-billion Bulacan International Airport is underway by the proponent SMHC, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) said at GMA news. After which, the DOTr will commence negotiations with SMHC to finalize the draft Concession Agreement and submit the same to NEDA ICC. SMHC, Ramon Ang said the company is ready to discuss and finalize the terms for Bulacan airport project.

The National Economic Development Authority approved the project on a new Airport at Bulacan on April 25, 2018 but subject to resolution of pending issues.
