Manila, Philippines - The 63-year-old legendary in the Philippine music Freddie Aguilar filed his certificate of candidacy COC for the 2019 midterm election, seeking the Senate seat under administration, PDP-Laban.
The 'ANAK' hitmaker shared that he was finally convinced by ordinary people to give politics a chance due to his advocacies.
"After 40 years, nakumbinsi na nila ako tumakbo sa Senado. Matagal na nila akong kinukumbinsi dahil daw sa aking mga advocacy sa kanta ko at 'yung nagpapayag sa aking ay mga ordinaryong mamamayan," Aguilar said.
"Pati po ako na walang hilig sa politics ay tumakbo na rin po. Mahal na Panginoon na po ang magsasabi kung saan tayo pupulutin," he added.
Aguilar also explained that he had been always a supporter of Federalism and also looking by making some difference in the entertainment industry.
Aguilar ranked 23rd according to Pulse Asia's survey last month on pre-senatorial elections survey.
