General Nicanor Faeldon son arrested in Naga city drug raid

Bureau of Corrections chief Nicanor Faeldon son mugshot had been surfaced online after its was arrested during a drug raid on a drug suspect's house in Naga City.

According to a report from the Inquirer, a man who introduced himself as Nicanor Faeldon Jr. was arrested in the house of Russel Lanuzo Bermudo in Barangay Mabolo.

No illegal drugs were confiscated from Faeldon Jr. but PNP spokesperson chief Supt. Benigno Durana Jr. said he will be charged for visiting an alleged drug den, Inquirer reported.

After the news broke out on Thursday, Bureau of corrections chief Nicanor Faeldon said on Friday that he offered to take a leave of absence in order to give way to the ongoing investigation.

Moreover, Faeldon said he will resign from his post if his son, Nicanor Jr., will be proven having links in the illegal drug activity.

However, Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra said he advised Faeldon against doing so.

'I told him that until and unless a reasonable ground to believe that his son involved in drug use has been shown, I see no reason why chief Faeldon should go on leave," the Justice chief said as quoted to GMA report.

During the TV interview, Faeldon said that his son asked permission to study about six to seven months in a University in Naga. From  what he saw from the news, the police's main suspect was the father of his son's girlfriend, and Nicanor Jr. was arrested since he was also staying in the house of his girlfriend.

"That's why when it was searched this morning, or course my son was there," he told ANC.
