Miss Calaca 2007 Mary Grace Villanueva, 27 died after after a minor surgery in a hospital in Batangas.

Three days after her minor surgery on her sinus at the Our Lady of Caysasay Medical Center in Lemery, Batangas, Manila Bulletin reported.
However, her mother Flaviana Villanueva is requesting for an autopsy before she will get buried, she revealed that her daughter had underwent minor operation for her sinusitis prior to her death.
After the operations, Mary Grace's face and tonsils got swollen. She experienced extreme pain on her throat, and had difficulty in breathing.
Based on the death certificate, the former beauty queen died of cardiac arrest, acute respiratory distress syndrome, and maxillary mucocele.
She passed away in the Intensive Care Unit of the hospital.
