Residents lambasted firefighters at deep sleep during fire at Manapla Public Market

Negros, Occidental - People are blaming members of firefighters in Manapla, Negros Occidental after the public market was severely damaged with an estimated to be worth P45 million.

According to report, firefighters arrived more than an hour after the fire started, were the fire station is just nearby the public market.

SFO2 Frankie Guillen did not deny the lapses of the Manapla Bureau of Fire as he told Bombo Radyo. They did not notice the fire because all their firefighters on duty were sleeping.

He told that the weather was cool, so the firefighters fell asleep. They're just human after all.

People went to the fire station at 3:20am to report the incident which was started 2am.  Another delay was, they had to prepare their equipment before they respond to the incident.

It was not clear what time the Bureau of Fire Protection declared fire out.

Here are some of the people's comment about the incident:

Michelle Jovelo said "What is the use of that firetruck?Display?"
